![]() ![]() Completely overhauled flight plan management system supporting all 23 ARINC 424 leg types. The Working Title G1000 NXi is now available for free, exclusively through the MSFS Marketplace. Some highlights are the completely overhauled flight planning system, an impressive real-time flight path vector system based on current speed and conditions that matches the real unit, and much more. The G1000 NXi adds a huge list of welcome features to the glass cockpit, which you can learn more about below. It’s a great showcase of some of the capabilities of the NXi and its autopilot. Here we take a sneak-peak into some of the features of the G1000 NXi, such as the VNV profile display, VPTH, HSI map on the PFD and other really cool features. Make sure to send feedback to the team if you find any issues!Īs a teaser, WT released a preview video showing the G1000 NXi going through the challenging RNP 19 approach to KDCA (Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport). After installation, it shows up in every stock airplane that uses the G1000 system, namely: the Cirrus SR22, Diamond DA40NG and DA62, Baron G58, Bonanza G36, Cessna 172 and the Grand Caravan.īeing still in an early access stage, expect to see bugs and missing features, but WT promises to issue weekly or bi-weekly updates to this package, which will hopefully squash any existing bugs and add new features. Now available as a free download from the built-in Marketplace in MSFS, the G1000 NXi effectively replaces the prior freeware mod that has been available until now, so make sure to remove that one from your Community folder before installing this new NXi version. This partnership now seems to be coming to fruition with the release of an early access version of the Garmin G1000 NXi, which will eventually become the default G1000 in MSFS. After the recent announcement of a formal partnership between Working Title and the Flight Simulator team, it became clear that the folks from WT would be working closely with the simulator’s creators to improve the stock avionics in MSFS. I hope WT works this kink out of the NXi soon. The G1000 Mod from Working Title (WT) has been a favorite among GA pilots, who find this freeware modification to be much improved over the default G1000 avionics in MSFS. Working Title’s G3000 NXi is still apparently a work in progress. The only way to land the plane after this is to disengage the autopilot and hand-fly it the rest of the way. But in the new Working Title G1000 NXi, clicking the CDI key brings up a locator arrow pointing 90 degrees to the left of the runway heading – every time. Pre-NXi, I would hit the autopilot’s APR button at this point, the AP would capture the glideslope, and the plane would follow it in. ![]() Pre-Garmin NXi, doing this would replace the magenta arrow with a green localizer arrow that would be oriented straight-up, 6 o’clock to 12 o’clock–just like the magenta GPS it replaced–on the final approach heading to the target runway. This is when I mouse-click the CDI softkey in the PFD to switch from GPS to the localizer. Then things go haywire with the G1000 NXi. All works as it should until I get to the ILS approach’s final-fix intersection (the one with the maltese cross and the little lightning bolt). After takeoff, I engage the autopilot (for an IFR flight plan). ![]() Before takeoff, I enter the destination ILS runway’s LOC frequency into NAV1 and make it the active frequency I go to the MFD’s PROC screen to set up the ILS approach and load it for activation later. ![]() I’m not doing anything differently than I did with the plain-vanilla G1000. I’ve tried several times to fly ILS approaches in the Beech G36 since the G1000 NXi became the default Garmin in the G36 and numerous other aircraft in MSFS 2020 with Sim Update 5, without success. Working Title has enabled VNAV approaches in the G1000 NXi, but in the process, ILS approaches have somehow been lost. ![]() ![]() ![]() I struggled to see a difference in behaviour but I always felt it worked pretty well. ![]() Dance music’s nature of being in constant flux is reflected in the compilation’s amorphous and abundant artwork, and its artists who “resist easy definition” while defining today’s electronic landscape. ![]() ![]() Powered by an insatiable hunger for sonifying the future across a discography spanning three decades, Tresor’s ethos and legacy are reflected in their latest compilation titled yet, celebrating 350 releases on the label. Interfisch formed in 1988, signing Sheffield’s Clock DVA with the album Buried Dreams, a move that would lead to hundreds of records from artists pioneering music scenes all over the world. “I was tired of standing in line at the live venues,” Hegemann said, “paying 10 Deutschmarks and going home again alone.” They formed a sprawling network across Berlin: the Fischbüro DIY lecture hall, the Fischlabor pub, the UFO acid house club accessed via trapdoor, and the zine turned label Interfisch Records. The Fisch collective that preceded Tresor was founded by Hegemann and Kohlberger out of a desire for community. From founding the Berlin Atonal festival in 1982 with the likes of Psychic TV, Einstürzende Neubauten and 808 State in the lineup, to initiatives revitalising the nightlife and empty buildings of Detroit, Hegemann is something of a ferryman connecting artists and communities across the Atlantic and beyond. Naturally, Tresor's history goes much further back than its fledgling moments, with Dimitri Hegemann being instrumental not only as the label’s founder, but as a central figure in Berlin music scenes. They renovated a bank vault lying in the abandoned Wertheim department store in Potsdamer Platz, giving Tresor its name and historic space. Dimitri Hegemann, Achim Kohlberger, and Johnnie Stieler were the original treasure hunters over 30 years ago, digging through the sand-buried buildings of East Berlin in search of a venue that could hold space for their future-facing club ideas. “Tresor” means “safe” or “vault” in German, in other languages “treasure”. The label’s uniting sound of techno has brought together East and West, Detroit and Berlin, and stands as one of the global capitals of electronic music. Born in 1991 mere months after the demolishing of the Berlin Wall, and months before the reunification of Germany, Tresor has always operated with a revolutionary spirit. I want the music to stimulate discussion and new ideas.” Such a convergence of community and forward thinking music lies at the heart of Tresor Records, the iconic and pioneering Berlin label and club founded by Dimitri Hegemann. “I see the club as more than just a place for a party. Not only is The Cosmic Memoirs… a necessary chapter in the wider Drexciya story, but it is also an essential electro album of the highest calibre holding influence still to this day and beyond. Low end conversations in ‘Dance Of The Celestial Druids’ occur between a thumping four to the floor pattern and rumbling synth lines, taking on a meditative quality that is broken up by the complex and whimsical melodies on ‘The Freak Show’, propelled by a squeaky, booming kick, and curiously reversed vocal samples. ‘Solar Wind’ speeds in with swishing beats, chopping up interplanetary signals atop a deep bass. The album verges on experimental and even intimate, with the tender pads of ‘Lonely Journey Of The Comet Bopp’ introducing icy piano particles that flutter across tightly woven beats, while the anxious shuffles of ‘Alien Vessel Distress Call’ glue together sirens, alarms, and sonic tornadoes buzzing from side to side. The lone album from his Shifted Phases name surely sits high up in those ranks, and with Tresor’s continued reissues of the Drexciyan canon, has been rescued from the depths for us to revisit once more.Ĭonceived as part of the Drexciyan storm series that struck throughout the early 2000s, The Cosmic Memoirs… departs from the bubbling techno of Earth’s oceans to pursue extraterrestrial electro rhythms (perhaps reaching its destination at Drexciya’s Grava 4). Take a dive into any one of them and it’s not hard to see why. ![]() ![]() Many of the releases that have passed through James Stinson’s hands have been labelled as “essential” and “classic”, from the universe-spanning Afrofuturist saga of Drexciya to those produced under his various aliases (such as Lifestyles Of The Laptop Café). ![]() ![]() ![]() Complement your colour scheme - With so many colour choices of frames, you can complement your existing decor!
